Hej Mina, Firstly, I’m very sorry to tell you that my beloved little Lola, who you will remember, has died. She was more than sixteen year’s old. Just on the bike, I estimate that we traveled 30,000kms. together.I’m not surprised- looking at the fotos -that Kyrgyzstan is your new favorite country. It looked like a difficult scree slope to push your bikes up. I guess that the foto of you looking sad, with all things spread out on the tarp, was after you had caught those two boys ransacking your equipment. As you wrote, it sure was lucky that you hadn’t come back to your bikes thirty minutes later. I did a little adventure that I’d never tried before, on Friday night…cycling on the frozen lake for ninety minutes, using no lights beneath the moonlight. With spiked tires, of course. Fantastic! I’m beginning to gather equipment for a six-week cycle trip this summer. It will be my first long journey since 2013. I was really impressed with your excellent writing skills- and in English too. I particularly liked: ‘The Chai that we used to drink after dinner while we watched the night swallow the last bit of color from the landscape, and at he same time apologize for it with an infinite number of stars in the night sky.’ Take care Mina, love Simon
