Friday was finally the day. The Golden Gate Bridge was one of my desired little highlights on the coast, though it’s only a bridge. It was a sunny day and only 35 miles to go…San Francisco here I come!

The fact, that the amount of tourists increased radically, told me, that it couldn’t be far anymore; and it wasn’t. Passing the hill behind Sausalitos it became visible -The Golden Gate Bridge, the rope bridge with a length of almost 3000m.

It was an incredible feeling, just having counted the 5000km on my tacho earlier that day, enjoying the perfect weather and realising the greatness of this whole trip. Im sure that it was a completly different feeling for me, than for all the other tourists getting out of their car or bus to make their picture. I was quite proud, relieved, happy and lucky just standing there. Even better was the crossing by bike. Hello San Fransisco!

Freitag war es endlich so weit. Die Goden Gate Bridge war für mich ein kleines Highlight an der Küste, auch wenn es nur eine Brücke ist. Es war ein sonniger Tag und nur noch 35 Meilen bis San Francisco… auf gehts!:)
Die Tatsache, dass die Anzahl der Touristen auf einmal rasant anstieg sagte mir, dass es nicht mehr weit sein kann und das war es auch nicht. Nach dem Berg aus Sausalitos raus war sie auch schon da- die Golden Gate Bridge, die Hängebrücke mit einer Länge von fast 3000m. Es war ein unglaubliches Gefühl, da ich den Tag kurz zuvor meine 5000km geknackt hatte, das Wetter perfekt war und diese Reise bislang einfach so unglaublich ist. Ich bin mir sicher, dass es für mich ein ganz anderes Gefühl war, als für all die anderen Touristen, die aus dem Auto oder Bus aussteigen, um ihr Foto zu machen. Ich war schon stolz, erleichter, froh und glücklich als ich nur so da stand; umso besser war die Überquerung mit dem Rad. Hello San Francisco!
