What does that mean? It´s “a situation of national danger or disaster in which a government suspends normal constitutional procedures in order to regain control.” (Oxford).

A ´State of Emergency´ is currently declared in Portugal as well as in many other countries around the globe. The Corona Virus is changing the world, the nature and the people. It has an high impact on the economy and the relations between countries and it´s effecting the feeling of safety and trust. As well it´s limiting the possibility to travel. There are many different informations and opinions out there- Things to research and to think about. Nothing I want to write about on my blog though.

I just wanted to let you know that I´m doing well. I´m still in Portugal and still staying at the same place, where I´m volunteering as a workaway. Life could be much worse here. The sun is shining almost every day and I manage to do some exercise on the property as well as going for walks and bike rides outside. ´Quinta Magica´ is a very quiet and peaceful place, surrounded by eucalyptus forests and wine yards. Nearby is the mountain range called Serra de Montejunto, from where you have a beautiful view all around the area.

I´m really enjoying my time here. It feels good to have arrived at a place, to linger and to be creative. Of course I still hope that the whole situation will have a happy end in some ways. I hope that in the near future it will be possible again to travel, to explore foreign countries and visit friends all over the world. At the moment everything is uncertain and any planning or ideas I did or I had for this year seem to stand still, just like for many other people.

Aktuell ist der Notstand nicht nur in Portugal, sondern auch in vielen anderen Ländern rund um den Globus ausgerufen. Das Corona-Virus verändert die Welt, die Natur und die Menschen. Es hat großen Einfluss auf die Wirtschaft und die Beziehungen zwischen den Ländern und es hat Auswirkungen auf unser Gefühl von Sicherheit und Vertrauen. Es schränkt insbesondere die Möglich sich frei zu bewegen und zu Reisen stark ein. Man findet viele verschiedene Informationen und Meinungen über das Thema. Dinge, über die man recherchieren und nachdenken kann. Es ist allerdings etwas, worüber ich nicht in meinem Blog schreiben möchte.

Ich wollte euch jedoch wissen lassen, dass es mir gut geht. Ich bin immer noch in Portugal und ich bin immer noch am selben Ort, wo ich als ´workaway´ aushelfe. Das Leben hier könnte definitv schlimmer sein. Die Sonne scheint fast jeden Tag und ich habe die Möglichkeit mich sowohl auf dem Grundstück auszupowern, als auch draußen spazieren zu gehen und Radtouren zu machen. ´Quinta Magica´ ist ein sehr ruhiger Ort, umgeben von Eukalyptuswäldern und Weinbergen. Ganz in der Nähe gibt es das Gebirge Serra de Montejunto, von wo man eine wunderschöne Aussicht hat.

Ich genieße meine Zeit hier sehr. Es tut gut an einem Ort angekommen zu sein, zu verweilen und kreativ zu sein. Natürlich hoffe ich dennoch, dass die ganze Situation in irgendeiner Form ein Happy End hat. Ich hoffe, dass es in naher Zukunft wieder möglich sein wird zu reisen, fremde Länder zu erkunden und Freunde oder Bekannte überall auf der Welt zu besuchen. Momentan ist alles ungewiss und jegliche Planung oder Ideen für dieses Jahr scheinen still zu stehen, wie bei so vielen anderen Menschen auch.
